DIA gives 50 companies a spot on $6B IT contract

The Enhanced Solutions for the Information Technology Enterprise deal is designed to streamline IT acquisitions.

The Defense intelligence Agency has given 50 companies—25 large, 25 small—a spot on the potentially $6 billion Enhanced Solutions for the Information Technology Enterprise (E-SITE) contract, a five-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity deal designed to streamline DIA’s IT acquisition, the agency has announced.

E-SITE is a follow-on to the Solutions for Information Technology Enterprise, a maximum $6.6 billion contract which was awarded in 2010 and expired in May.

DIA released its initial, draft solicitation for E-SITE in May 2013 and, after an industry day in the fall that year, issued its final solicitation in March 2014. Seventy-seven proposals were submitted. DIA said the idea behind having one contract to cover so much territory—and so many companies—is to simplify its purchasing, by standardizing acquisition documents, providing better reporting and improving its data integrity.

The companies that will compete for work under the contract, each of which are receiving a nominal $500 award to start with, are:
