Forge.mil provider acquires project management business

CollabNet, the provider of the software development platform behind the Defense Information Systems Agency’s Forge.mil, has acquired Danube, a provider of Scrum project management solutions, CollabNet has announced.

Scrum is an incremental framework for managing complex work that is often used for software development.

Brisbane, Calif.-based CollabNet did not disclose the terms of the deal.

The addition of Danube’s Scrum-focused services and project management to CollabNet’s Agile Dynamic Planning capabilities gives CollabNet customers a combination of Agile project management and full-featured application life-cycle management, according to the company. Danube is based in Portland, Ore.

Agile application life-cycle management platforms enable development teams using Agile to manage all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering through release, according to CollabNet.

“The addition of Danube’s technology and team to our organization will uniquely enable us to help customers to adopt, implement, and scale Agile software development programs, especially distributed teams that wish to collaborate and leverage knowledge across the entire enterprise,” said Bill Portelli, chief executive officer of CollabNet.
