Hathaway gets award from trade group for cybersecurity review

The Internet Security Alliance today gave Melissa Hathaway its annual McCurdy Award for her work on the Obama administration's review of cyberspace policy.

Melissa Hathaway, former acting senior director for cyberspace in the Obama administration, received an award today from the Internet Security Alliance for vision in cybersecurity.

Hathaway conducted the Obama administration's review of federal cyberspace policy in 2009. The trade association gave Hathaway the annual McCurdy Award for that and said in a statement that the organization believes if put in place Hathaway’s work would result in “a modern partnership between the public and private sectors, which is necessary for an effective and sustainable system of cybersecurity.”
