DOD awards business transformation support contract

Science Applications International Corp. will furnish technical support to the Defense Department for its integrated business management functions under a new contract.

Science Applications International Corp. will furnish technical support to the Defense Department for its integrated business management efforts under a contract worth up to $75 million over five years.

Under the contract, SAIC will provide technical assistance and services to the Defense Business Transformation Agency’s Enterprise Planning and Investment Directorate, company officials said June 16.

Specifically, SAIC will assist the directorate in strengthening the capabilities of its Integrated Management Information Environment (IMEE), the officials said.

The company will assist the directorate to boost its capabilities in the areas of document management, online analytics, and modeling and simulation. It also will help the directorate improve its workflow, collaboration, information acquisition and storage processes.

The Enterprise Planning and Investment Directorate is responsible for furnishing DOD leaders and managers with the information they need to meet the goals and objectives of various business transformation initiatives. The IMEE supports this effort by assimilating and integrating information from authoritative sources and then rendering the data in customized reports, dashboards and other means.

SAIC is based in McLean, Va.
