More user-friendly DFAS website relaunched

Users of the Defense Finance and Accounting Service website will see a new look and easier navigation controls when they visit the agency's redesigned site.

Users of the Defense Finance and Accounting Service website will see a new look and easier navigation controls when they visit the agency's site, which was relaunched April 21.

DFAS said the site has about 6 million users, including service members, federal civilian employees, military retirees and annuitants, and Defense Department vendors and contractors. The agency said the redesign will provide a cleaner and more visually pleasing experience for users.

“Over the years, the navigation and content has gotten more difficult for users to get the information they need to understand and maintain their pay or vendor accounts,” said DFAS Principal Deputy Director Richard Gustafson. “The new site gives our customers better information faster. We know our online visitors don’t want to spend more of their time on our website than they have to.”

While the homepage will not change, links to some specific DFAS pages will change, the agency said in an April 19 Web posting. Visitors using links to specific pages will be re-routed to the DFAS homepage. The site’s navigation has also received an extensive remodel to make exploring the various sections easier and more intuitive, DFAS said.
