General Dynamics offers new classified/unclassified laptop

General Dynamics has introduced a new laptop that allows users to operate on both classified and unclassified networks at the same time.

General Dynamics on Oct. 10 introduced a new laptop that allows users to operate on both classified and unclassified networks at the same time, the company said.

The TACLANE-MultiBook was certified by the National Security Agency for secure network communications at the secret level or below, General Dynamics said in a statement.

The new device, based on a commercial product, has less-stringent handling requirements but is capable of ensuring that sensitive information is not compromised if the laptop is lost or stolen. It costs about $5,500.
