The U.S. Army Information Technology Agency awarded the task order under the Network-Centric Solutions contract. It calls for Telos to provide Defense Message System support at the Pentagon Telecommunications Center, the Army’s nerve center for operating and managing the critical IT infrastructure related to messaging.

Telos will help the center integrate, operate and maintain a single messaging system at three security levels. The company will also provide continuous customer support for facilities in the National Capital Region and beyond. The scope of the work includes all functions, services and tasks associated with the management and operation of the messaging system at the center. Those services support all command and control messaging systems and associated infrastructure and interfaces at the Pentagon and alternate locations, Telos officials said.

“The single, integrated DMS securely sends and tracks official communications for command and control electronic messaging, transmits messages from one organization to another, provides orders or direction to the receiving organization, and transmits officially recognized intelligence information,” said Frank Whitehead, senior vice president and general manager of Telos’ Secure Solutions Division, in a statement released today.

The systems integrator has provided support to the Pentagon center for the past six years.

Telos’ partners for the base-year services are Data Systems Analysts Inc., ICE Communications and Web Business Solutions. The contract also includes some optional tasks, which Telos has teamed with Northrop Grumman Corp., Technique Solutions and Universal Hi-Tech Development to provide.
