Navy, Raytheon in final phase of destroyer software project

The Navy has awarded Raytheon a $254 million contract modification to complete software development for the DDG 1000 destroyer program.

The Navy has awarded Raytheon a $254 million contract modification to complete software development for the DDG 1000 destroyer program, company officials said Dec. 19.

Under the contract, Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems will furnish development engineering activities for the Total Ship Computing Environment Infrastructure integration, ship control systems and Mission Systems Equipment software development and integration.

Raytheon's computing environment software for the Zumwalt-class destroyers encompasses all shipboard computing applications, including the combat management system, command and control, ship machinery and damage control, and other support systems.
