Army taps Exelis to operate, maintain and defend networks in SWA

The Army Contracting Command, Fort Huachuca, Ariz., awarded Exelis Systems Corp., Colorado Springs, Colo., a $127 million contract for the operation, maintenance and defense of Army communications in Southwest Asia (SWA) and Central Asia. Work will be performed in Kuwait, Afghanistan, Iraq and Qatar.

This is a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract, and five companies bid on the project through the Internet.
