DISA releases request for $427M cloud storage services

The contract will replace a five-year, $700 million contract with Vion Corp.

The Defense Information Systems Agency released a request for proposals for an enterprise storage services cloud contract on July 17. Services lines to be delivered include cloud-based storage, virtual machine, database and web hosting services.

The contract is valued at $427 million, according to Washington Technology.

The contract will replace the five-year, $700 million contract awarded to Vion Corp. in 2007. DISA plans to continue the model it used with Vion to acquire storage capacity for Defense Department users and the contract awardee will handle service and maintenance, reported Nextgov.
