Navy adds $54.5M modification to C4ISR contract
The Space and Navy Warfare Systems Command issued a contract modification to L-3 for continued work until 2016 on C4 systems.
The Navy has awarded L-3 National Security Solutions a $54.5 million modification to an existing contract continued support for C4ISR and C2 systems.
The new ceiling increase calls for L-3 to provide a wide range of engineering and technical support services for command, control, communications and computer (C4) systems, including planning and evaluation, integration, systems integration, operational systems, fielding, training, certification, maintenance, logistics, configuration management, systems engineering, network engineering, software engineering, documentation/graphics support, program management, quality assurance and life-cycle sustainment management support. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic in Charlestown, S.C., awarded the contract.
This contract has undergone several modifications and iterations in the past. It was initially published in 2010 but was not awarded until 2011.
SPAWAR modified the contract again in September of 2014 to increase the contract ceiling for L-3 and shift the contract from the Specialized Communications Engineering Branch of SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic, to the Special Operations Communication Systems. Under the Special Operations Communication Systems, the primary mission is to “support the Joint Warfighter commands' communication systems and network infrastructure.”
Currently, the cumulative value for the contract as a whole is $136 million. The work is expected to be completed by September 2016.
