DISA sets Forecast to Industry for November
Senior officials will detail their acquisition and procurement plans for fiscal 2016 and 2017.
The Defense Information Systems Agency will outline its acquisition and procurement plans for the next couple of years during its annual Forecast to Industry, set for early November in downtown D.C.
The event, to be hosted by Douglas Packard, director of the agency’s Procurement Directorate and chief of the Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO), will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 2 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.
As DISA notes in an announcement, on-site registration is already full, although interested parties can register to follow the event online (the announcement has the link for online registration). In-person attendance is limited to 800 people, with no more than two from any company.
In addition to Packard, senior DISA leaders will brief attendees on the agency’s tactical acquisition issues, requirements, and planned procurements for fiscal 2016 and 2017, DISA said. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with senior leaders, program managers, and acquisition representatives.
In its five-year strategic plan released in June, the agency said it would be focusing on cyber operations and supporting the defense Department’s Joint Information Environment. Efforts toward the latter include developing the Joint Information Headquarters for DOD Information Networks, a new office that was established early this year, and continuing to deploy the deploy the Joint Regional Security Stacks that underpin JIE’s security.
