Obama nominates new leaders for Army Materiel Command

Army Materiel Command's deputy commanding general has been nominated to lead the unit.

President Barack Obama has nominated new leaders for the Army Materiel Command, which provides technology, acquisition support, materiel development, logistics power projection, and sustainment.

Obama nominated Lt. Gen. Dennis L. Via for the grade of general and assignment as commanding general of AMC in Redstone Arsenal, Ala. Via serves as the current deputy commanding general and chief of staff of AMC.

Maj. Gen. Patricia E. McQuistion has been nominated to be Via's replacement and for promotion to lieutenant general. McQuistion currently serves as commanding general of Army Sustainment Command in Rock Island, Ill.
