Two defense heavyweights vie for Navy tech, C4I tasks
Top tier integrators GDIT and SAIC will provide systems engineering, software and C4I support for the Navy.
General Dynamics Information Technology and Science Applications International will compete for Navy task orders for technology support under two three-year contracts that have a cumulative value of $128 million, according to a Feb. 14 Defense Department announcment.
GDIT’s indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract could be worth as much as $68.1 million.
SAIC’s three-year IDIQ, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract could be worth as $59.8 million.
The awards call for technology insertion, software and systems engineering support.
They also cover modeling and simulation, testing, and integrated logistics in support of communications, information technology, and other command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence (C4I) efforts.
Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif. (85 percent), and Fairfax, Va. (15 percent), and is expected to be completed Feb. 13, 2015.
This contract was competitively procured via a request for proposal published on the Federal Business Opportunities website, and the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center e-Commerce Central website, with two offers received. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific is the contracting activity.
