Harris has introduced a wideband, high-frequency manpack radio that offers data rates 10 times greater than existing HF manpacks, the company said in a June 11 news release.

The company's new Falcon III RF-7800H wideband manpack enables warfighters to transmit video, images, maps and other large data files from beyond-line-of-sight environments without having to rely on satellite transmission, the company said.

The RF-7800H is 20 percent smaller and lighter than previous HF manpacks, operates on a single battery and is designed to assist warfighters operating in rugged or urban terrain, the company said.
