Joint exercise will assess counter-UAV systems

Black Dart will be tested across integrated platforms over eight days.

Black Dart, a joint U.S. military exercise, is scheduled to take place from July 29 to Aug. 11 at Naval Air Station Point Mugu, Calif. The purpose of Black Dart is to test counter-unmanned aerial vehicles systems across integrated air and missile defense platforms.

Black Dart is an annual exercise that began in 2010 to assess the ability of manned and unmanned platforms to detect and identify enemy UAVs in flight.
