Army extends IT hardware contract another year, $652M

The six incumbents on ITES-2H will cover orders until next June while the Army works on the delayed ITES-3H.

The Army has added another year to its contract for IT hardware, software and related services, awarding a $652 million modification to the six incumbent contractors.

The Information Technology Enterprise Solutions – Hardware, currently in its second iteration and known as ITES-2H, covers the range of computing hardware, from servers and workstations to PCs, laptops and thing clients, along with the software and service for those devices.

Awarded in 2007, it was originally due to expire in 2012, but the Army has awarded a series of extensions ($500 million awarded in 2013, $774 awarded last year) to keep it going while it works out the details of its delayed successor, ITES-3H.

The modification will cover ITES-2H orders through June 23, 2016.

The contractors on ITES-2H are:

  • Dell Federal Systems
  • IBM Corp.
  • Unicom Government
  • CDW-Government
  • Iron Bow Technologies
  • World Wide Technology.
