K-Max drone awaits orders for Afghanistan

A drone manufactured by Lockheed Martin has passed a crucial test for the Marine Corps and should be ready for use in Afghanistan this fall, AOL Defense reports.
Earlier this month, the service put Lockheed's K-Max aerial cargo drone through a five-day Quick Reaction Assessment test in Yuma, Ariz. The test was meant to replicate conditions found in Afghanistan.
Jim Naylor, director for business development for K-Max at Lockheed, said the drone reached all the Marine Corps' goals during the tests. A final official performance review will be released in October.
