Air Force, Raytheon team on UAS electro-optical sensor work

Raytheon will improve the resolution of a key electro-optical sensor payload used for unmanned aircraft systems, helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft under a new Air Force contract.

Raytheon will improve the resolution of a key electro-optical sensor payload used for unmanned aircraft systems, helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft under an Air Force contract valued at $25.8 million, reports sUAS News.

Under the terms of the contract, Raytheon will continue making improvements to the Multi-Spectral Targeting System B sensor pod and explore image fusion and other performance enhancements for the pod, company officials said.

The sensor pod is used on UAS such as the Predator-B, Gray Eagle and similar variants, the story said.
