Army taps BAE for head mounted displays

The Army's Program Executive Office Soldier has awarded BAE Systems a contract to furnish head mounted displays.

The Army's Program Executive Office Soldier has awarded BAE Systems a $21.7 million indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract to furnish head mounted displays designed to enhance warfighters' operational effectiveness, company officials said in a Jan. 17 statement.

The lightweight, low-power head mounted display, known as Remote Eyepiece Display Imager, is compatible with night sensors such as thermal weapon sights, the officials said.

The imager supports a variety of missions, night vision sensors, and weapons systems, they said.
