Ferrell to lead Army CECOM at Aberdeen

Army Maj. Gen. Robert Ferrell will take command Feb. 9 of the service's Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) in a morning ceremony at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., Army officials said Feb. 6.
During a ceremony at Aberdeen's C4ISR Center of Excellence, Army Maj. Gen. Randolph Strong will pass command to Ferrell. Strong, who oversaw CECOM's move from Fort Monmouth, N.J., to Aberdeen Proving Ground as part of the base closure and realignment effort, is retiring after 34 years of Army service.
Ferrell most recently was director of Command, Control, Communications and Computer Systems and CIO for the U.S. Africa Command.
