Army taps new IT provider for European headquarters

The U.S. Army Europe headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany, and its associated staff elements will receive information technology from General Dynamics Corp. in a five-year Alliant contract task order worth $122 million if all options are exercised.

General Dynamics Information Technology will support the U.S. Army Europe headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany, and its associated staff elements and organizations as part of the USAREUR Theater Warfighter Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) program, according to a company announcement this week.

As part of the task order, the company will provide systems engineering, network integration and configuration, Battle Command Systems support, IT knowledge management, Microsoft SharePoint support, video teleconferencing and Web development.

GDIT also will perform logistics, training, planning and exercises support.

The majority of work will be performed at USAREUR headquarters, at other sites in Germany and at Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo.
