Army to test Hummingbird unmanned helos in Afghanistan
The Army plans to send three of Boeing’s A160 Hummingbird unmanned helicopters to Afghanistan this spring to boost the service’s reconnaissance capabilities.
The small-scale deployment is a way for the service to test the ability of unmanned helicopters to carry out reconnaissance from forward bases with no aircraft runways, Defense Tech said.

The unmanned helicopters will be outfitted with ARGUS wide-area surveillance cameras capable of conducting intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance of broad swaths of land.
