Common display systems to boost Navy situational awareness at sea

DRS Technologies has won a contract to furnish common display systems to the Navy and boost situational awareness for sailors.

DRS Technologies has won a $23.4 million indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract to furnish common display systems (CDS) to the Navy for use on surface ships, submarines and aircraft carriers, the company said Sept. 6.

The company, which is teamed with Lockheed Martin on the contract, has received an initial order for the production and qualification of three Variant A CDS consoles, configuration options and spares, the company said.

The CDS consoles will improve situational awareness for sailors, the company said.
