Top 20 defense contractors, 2014
Defense companies dominate Washington Technology’s Top 100 list of federal contractors.
The U.S. defense budget continues a downward trend after the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Obama administration’s $495.6 budget request for 2015 was the first in 13 years not predicated on U.S. troops being involved in a foreign war, and accounts for a reduction in the size of U.S. forces.
But defense still accounts for a sizable chunk of federal spending, making up 55 percent of the 2015 request. In fact, in sister publication Washington Technology’s 2014 Top 100 list of federal contractors, the top six contractors overall also are the top defense contractors, and many other top defense contractors show up high on the overall list.
Below are the top 20 defense contractors for 2014, based on revenue from prime contracts during fiscal 2013. Click on the name to see Washington Technology’s profile of each company.
