Army awards more infrastructure modernization work

The Army has awarded Siemens Government Services Inc. a contract to support an ongoing effort to modernize the core information infrastructure at its facilities.

The Army has awarded Siemens Government Services Inc. a contract to support an ongoing effort to modernize the core information infrastructure at its facilities.

Under the contract, Siemens Government Services will furnish, install and test turn-key technologies to upgrade information infrastructure at Army facilities in Hohenfels, Germany, the Defense Department announced Feb. 20. The DOD did not disclose the contract value.

The work will be done as part of the Army’s Installation Information Infrastructure Modernization Program (I3MP), DOD said. The program seeks to provide Army components around the globe with the latest off-the-shelf technologies for voice and data communications and associated equipment. The program’s overriding goal is provide warfighters with secure access to critical information.

Siemens Government Services Inc., of Reston, Va., is a unit of Siemens Corp. of New York.
