Naval Academy weaves cybersecurity into curriculum

The U.S. Naval Academy is adding two cybersecurity courses to its curriculum in an effort to elevate training in a field deemed essential to national security, reports Manny Fantis at wusa9.com.

Beginning next year, students at the Naval Academy will take one course in their freshmen year on identifying cyber risks and threats, and another in their junior year on computer network defense.

The move will put the Naval Academy on par with the U.S. Military Academy and U.S. Air Force Academy, both of which integrated cybersecurity into their curriculums more than a decade ago.
