The Heron TP, often referred to in the country as the UAV "that can reach Iran," has a 26-meter-long wingspan, can stay airborne for up to 45 hours, and has the ability to launch missiles, the article said.
The IAF, which already uses other UAVs to patrol its borders, established the first squadron of Heron TPs in 2010 and has been learning how to operate and develop the operational doctrine to employ them in military situations.
