Air Force awards $14M modification for space situational awareness prototype

Lockheed Martin will support the Joint Space Operational Center under NETCENTS.

The U.S. Air Force has awarded a $14.4 million contract modification to Lockheed Martin under the NETCENTS contract to provide an integrated space situational awareness prototype developer, reported Washington Technology, a Defense Systems sister publication.

The contract, now totaling $37.4 million, will enhance net-centric access to space situational awareness data for the Joint Space Operational Center. The prototype developer will support the Space and Missile Systems Center for space operations and intelligence processing.

Work is expected to be completed by September 2015.
