Marines purchase new vehicle-mounted sensors

The Marine Corps has awarded Lockheed Martin Corp. a contract for vehicle-mounted and portable sensor systems needed for remote surveillance on the battlefield.

Lockheed Martin Gyrocam Systems unit will deliver 110 VOSS II and 30 PRDSS to the Marines under the agreement.

The Marine Corps has awarded Lockheed Martin Corp. a $58.6 million contract for vehicle-mounted and portable sensor systems needed for remote surveillance on the battlefield.

Lockheed Martin will furnish equipment and support services for the Gyrocam Vehicle Optic Sensor Systems II and the Portable Rapid Deployment Surveillance Systems, the company said in a June 9 news release.
