The Air Force secretary on confronting China and getting nominees through Congress.

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md.—The Air Force isn't yet set up right for great power competition, Secretary Frank Kendall told an audience gathered for this keynote speech at the Air Force Association's big annual conference outside Washington, D.C.

Kendall also called on Congress—specifically, the U.S. Senate—to get moving on nominations and promotions stalled by the GOP's Sen. Tommy Tuberville of Alabama. Defense One's Marcus Weisgerber has that and more from Day 1 of the AFA conference, here.
